In the previous edition of Bits & Bytes we asked if you would complete a short survey. Thank you to everyone who participated. Your feedback was overwhelmingly positive and we received some valuable input. One suggestion was that we include more information on training, so, in future, we will post regular articles on the software we support and available training for it.

MAINTENANCE WEEKEND: 28 JUNE

System maintenance is scheduled for the weekend of 28 June – 1 July from 17:00 on Friday afternoon until 08:00 on Monday morning.

SUNSTUDENT AND SUNFIN LAUNCH
The new SUNStudent and SUNFin projects were recently introduced to campus. Both systems will be cloud-based and promise to take SU into a new age of technology.
SOMETHING INTERESTING
Machine learning researchers have produced a system that can recreate lifelike motion from just a single frame of a person’s face, opening up the possibility of animating not just photos but also paintings.
