OUT WITH THE OLD

If you take a closer look, you will notice some changes in this month's newsletter. In keeping with the University's centenary celebrations and in an attempt to standardise our emails for both consistency and safety reasons, we've rebranded all our electronic communication. Read more about the new look here.

We'd love to know what you think of the redesign. Do you think our automated emails (change password, internet account and general emails) will appear more trustworthy or could they still be easily confused with phishing emails? Do let us know at bitsbytes@sun.ac.za.

HAVE YOUR SAY

In our previous newsletter we asked you which browser you used before Google became part of your life. Here's what you said:

"We generally used Yahoo on Internet Explorer’s search platform and it was painful." - Mrs Peta Steyn, Department of Chemistry and Polymer Science.

"I really liked the historical search engine question which was included in the latest Bits & Bytes edition. So I have decided to answer the question. I believe that Yahoo and Webcrawler are some good examples that fit the description". - Samuel Simango, Library and Information Service.
