Save the earth, dams, rhinos ...

As of Tuesday, the Western Cape is facing water restrictions and we have no choice but to do our part and save water. Whether you use grey water for gardening or separate your paper, glass and plastic for recycling, every contribution makes a difference. We can even help you to get rid of old, redundant electronics.

While preserving resources is critical, we also need to take care of our wildlife. And why not use technology to assist with this enormous task?

Conservation by drone
You've seen the videos on YouTube – sweeping, breathtaking aerial shots capturing locations inaccessible to most people. On Wednesday Rhino Africa released a video compiled with drone footage which shows the beauty of Africa.
Get rid of your e-waste
Do you have old computers, monitors, cell phones or batteries lying around, clogging up cupboards? Are you concerned enough to dispose of them responsibly and not simply consign them to the dump?
Invitation to workshop
The SU IT Division is pleased to invite you to the Python/Shell/Git Software Carpentry workshop. The course is aimed at Stellenbosch University graduate students and researchers.
